Yesterday...No, I already talked about that. Let's see, then...Ah, I did have an "interview" with our teacher, which I guess is a weekly thing. It's basically a time for us to talk individually with him for 15 minutes, in a more relaxed setting and without being graded, to practice speaking. I think he said I'm doing all right, except that I need to become more accurate when forming longer sentences when speaking. Good to know I at least don't completely fail at speaking, anyway. If it's shorter sentences, I think I do okay, but I know I'm not good at speaking anyway, no matter what language it is. Still. I shall work on that even more, then. If I weren't so shy, I'd try speaking to more people, especially the Japanese students here. I'm kind of hoping I'll become good friends with, say, one of my classmates in the religions class that's going to start October 2.
What else...I'm a bit nervous about moving in with my host family next weekend, because they don't know much English and I don't know much Japanese, I'm also worried about being able to find my way to and from campus the first few times, since I'm really no good with directions. For that matter, I need to find out how to get to the University of Shiga Prefecture before the end of the month. I think it'll be a great experience, the host family, because I'll learn very quickly about the culture and will also be forced to speak Japanese every day. Maybe I'll be a lot more comfortable speaking it by the end of the semester. I hope. However, one thing is I'll miss the feeling of being at home here, and being able to hang out with everyone whenever I want. It'll be a bit difficult to do things with everyone, or coordinate with them, if I'm not living in the dorms. Well, but I'd say the good things outweigh the disappointing ones, anyway.
Oh, on a final note, I guess I'm probably going to Osaka this weekend! It's weird, I know of Osaka, but I'm not sure about what all is there. Apparently a smaller version of Akihabara (a huge anime...place in Tokyo), and...shrines, temples, museums, an aquarium, parks, and castles and stuff. I don't know what's best to go to, though. I think aside from a couple of places we know we want to go to, like the shopping area, we're just going to wander and explore and hopefully not get lost. And have a bit of a nicer lunch than we've been eating.
Well, but I think that's it for now. With no homework or anything, I'm pretty bored. Everyone disappeared from downstairs, too, so...no one to talk to. So I'm already in my room. Oh, but I guess tomorrow my roommate's friends are throwing another big dinner in the lobby downstairs, takoyaki this time (basically octopus and rice, probably), and she invited me to join them, so of course I said yes. It's free, and it's food, and I'm a poor college student with no job and living on refunds and what I made at my old job, so...But anyway, I'm going to get ready for bed and stuffs
