My Year in Hikone, Japan
This blog is dedicated to anything and everything about my first study abroad trip, which will be in Hikone, Japan, through the Japan Center for Michigan Universities. To the best of my abilities, I'm going to record--well, just talk about, I guess--the whole process: the before, during and after. That is, the process of applying to JCMU and preparing to leave, and then as much as I can about what's going on while I'm there, and what it's like after I come back. I'm basically going to try to share everything and give my opinions on it all. At the very least, I'm hoping that this blog will be helpful for other people who want to study in Japan, and give them a bit of insight into what it's like. Maybe I can also help to dispel any stereotypes about Japan and its culture that people may have. Who knows? Maybe after reading this, you'll be inspired to study abroad, or will at least start thinking about it. Even if you're not a language major or learning a language at all, studying abroad is still a great experience, I think.
Either way, I hope you can find this blog entertaining and helpful!
